Just a thought! ...how about a FAQ section in all pages that need one rather than this page. Afterall visitors would expect all info relating to one of your services to be in the page about that service!
How long will the survey take?
For a domestic EPC we will normally be on site for approximately one hour. The calculations are completed at our office and the Certificate will be produced within 24 hours.
Commercial EPC the site survey is approx. will vary depending on type of building for example a small hotel will be 2 to 3 hours on site will the report ready in 3 to 4 days.
Floor plans will depend on the size of building and number of rooms 3 bed semi approx. 1 hour.
Inventories take longer on site as all rooms have wall floors and ceiling recorded and noted for condition. A 3 bed semi approx. 2 hours
Will I need to be at home when the surveyor arrives?
Yes it would be preferable if you are at home as we will need to ask a few simple questions. We will also need access to all areas of your home, including the main heating boiler and loft area (if practically possible).
What is included in the Energy Performance Certificate?
The Certificate will look broadly similar to a certificate on a refrigerator. Its purpose is to record in a clear unambiguous format, how energy efficient the home is as a building.
Using colour charts, the EPC records the current rating and compares this with potential rating at which the owner should aim.
Who can produce the Energy Certificate?
The Energy Performance Certificate can only be completed by a qualified and licensed Domestic Energy Assessor or Home Inspector and qualified Non Domestic Energy assessor
In both case the certificates last for 10 Years
Does the Energy Performance Certificate need to be completed before a property is marketed?
The Certificate must be attached to the property details as supplied by the estate agent. The certificate should be in place within 28days of placing the property on the market if the property is being let the certicicate should be available for possible tenants as they view the property.
Commercial EPC’s need to be in place when a serious buyer tenant has been found.
Who has access and permission to view the Energy Performance Certificate?
Permission to view the contents of an Energy Performance Certificate by estate agents or prospective buyers must be given by the owner of the certificate
